To promote the release of Terminator Genisys, Play Nicely designed and built a worldwide touring Kinect experience that allowed fans to record videos of themselves morphing into a Terminator.

I developed a hybrid HTML5 iPad app using Backbone, Marionette.js and Apache Cordova which gave users the ability to browse videos recorded in the experience booth and share their footage to email and social media platforms.

MTV News has a nice write-up of the experience and showcases some of the fan-made videos shared using my iPad app.

The booth drew large crowds as it travelled around the US, UK and Japan, visiting cinemas and movie conventions, culminating in its debut at CinemaCon 2015 in Las Vegas where the Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, gave it a try before his appearance on stage at Paramount’s keynote presentation.
